About the Role

Directs and coordinates activities of one or more departments, such as engineering, operations, or sales, or a major division of the business organization. Obtains profit contribution by managing staff and establishing and accomplishing business objectives. Ensures alignment with the corporate plan, sets departmental goals, and measures success.

Responsibilities

  • Formulates and administers organization policies, and develops long-range goals and objectives in support of Executive Vice President or Chief Administrative Officer.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of department or division to further attainment of goals and objectives.
  • Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Confers with other executives and administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives based on current status and conditions.
  • Develops strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains smooth workflow between departments and resolves interdepartmental conflicts.
  • Ensures the company stays on schedule and meets or exceeds goals.
  • Develops opportunities that benefit the company, delivers products and services to customers, and attains customer satisfaction.
  • Directs operations in conjunction with business growth, introduction of new systems, and meeting financial and organizational goals related to safety, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Coordinates support to operations areas through intradepartmental collaboration for smooth workflow and cost-efficient product or service delivery.
  • Plans, prepares, controls, monitors, and forecasts the organization's direct and/or indirect budgets.
  • Directs capital expenditure and asset redeployment activities.
  • Ensures attainment of efficient and economical performance in relation to profit and year-end goals.
  • Participates in the investigation and implementation of new services, manufacturing processes, and product or systems technologies to meet organizational objectives.
  • May serve as a member of management committees on special studies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant general management experience in a leadership role.

  • Office environment.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on a computer.
