About the role
The Vice President of Loan Servicing oversees the servicing operations for Ascent's commercial real estate loan portfolio. Key responsibilities include managing loan servicing activities, optimizing operational processes, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and investor guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the servicing of commercial real estate loans, including monitoring loan performance, managing payments, and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Manage day-to-day operations such as payment processing, escrow management, investor reporting, and default management.
- Review and approve loan advances, payments, payoffs, construction loan draw requests, inspection reports, and other loan servicing activities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, borrowers, regulators, and service providers.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize operations and enhance customer experience.
- Lead the loan servicing department, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to drive performance and achieve departmental goals.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as loan origination, underwriting, compliance, and asset management, to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain and update loan servicing practices in response to evolving federal, state, investor guidelines, as well as internal company policies.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess team performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Identify opportunities and oversee implementation of technological solutions that enhance servicing operations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in commercial and mortgage loan servicing, implementing changes as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, related field or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of experience in commercial mortgage loan servicing with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
- Expert level knowledge of mortgage servicing regulations and best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing and highly motivated teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with employees, customers, and senior management.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Proficiency in loan servicing software and Microsoft Office suite.

Pay
Pay Range: $160,000 - $175,000 per year
Bonus: 25% per year
Schedule
This role works on-site from Ascent's Encino office, Monday - Thursday (Fridays are work-from-home). Full-time, 40 hours per week; must be available for occasional overtime. Some nights and weekends required.
