Vice President, Fund/Client Accounting Manager

About the role

The Vice President is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of complex private equity and/or credit fund relationships while leading accounting professionals responsible for NAV production, client service, and operational execution. This role combines technical accounting expertise, people leadership, and client-facing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage fund accounting teams responsible for delivering NAVs, reporting packages, and related accounting deliverables.
  • Review complex accounting transactions, allocations, waterfalls, fee calculations, and fund structures.
  • Serve as a primary point of escalation for accounting and operational issues.
  • Maintain direct relationships with clients, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead onboarding, fund launches, restructurings, and platform conversions.
  • Drive process improvement, automation, controls, and operational efficiencies.
  • Monitor delivery timelines, quality metrics, and risk indicators.
  • Coach and develop team members through training and mentorship.
  • Partner with Investor Services, Treasury, Operations, Product, and Technology teams to resolve issues and implement solutions.
  • Support strategic initiatives involving Geneva, Investran and other operational platforms.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of alternative investment accounting experience.
  • Significant private equity and private credit fund experience.
  • Prior people management experience.
  • Proven client-facing and relationship management skills.
  • Experience managing NAV cycles, audits, and complex fund structures.
  • Demonstrated success leading projects, implementations, or conversions.
  • Experience with Geneva, Investran, Advent, or equivalent systems preferred.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA or CFA designation preferred.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of private equity and credit fund structures.

Pay

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This role is full-time and based in Glen Allen, Virginia.
