About the role
Consult with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services or technical support in complex situations. Responsible for requirements gathering, BRD/SRD preparation, and ensuring thorough knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle. Coordinate the technical design, development, and documentation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes, including interfaces with other systems.
- Ensure expected application performance levels are achieved by coordinating, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation.
- Develop well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
- Create flowcharts, layouts, and documentation to satisfy requirements and solutions.
- Maintain software functionality and address technical debt.
- Actively participate in code reviews and apply security and privacy principles.
- Execute full lifecycle software development, including developing software verification plans and quality assurance procedures.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems, ensuring software is updated with the latest features.
- Use learning tools such as Pluralsight to complete recommended and aspirational targets in personal development plans.
- Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
- Leverage existing products/functionality and promote reuse.
- Collaborate with other engineers to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
- Work alongside data engineers, business users, project managers, and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions.
- Compile documentation written by more senior developers for all procedures used in the system.
- Conduct reviews of test plans and test data.
- Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, Database Scripting, IBM MQ, Kafka, HTML5, CSS, JSON, and AngularJS.
- Create well-defined and robust RESTful APIs for payment processing supporting SWIFT MT and MX message formats, including processing wires and other payment types.
- Secure applications using OAuth2 and OIDC for authentication and authorization.
- Apply cryptographic techniques and algorithms to sign and secure REST APIs, utilizing encryption, hashing, and digital signatures for data integrity and confidentiality.
- Use Cucumber for Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and conduct load tests using Apache JMeter.
- Analyze REST API performance using AppDynamics and Splunk.
- Utilize distributed caching frameworks to maximize API throughput and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- Seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or a related IT occupation in the financial services industry.
Qualifications
Seven (7) years of experience must include:
- Designing and developing high-volume, low-latency applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, Database Scripting, IBM MQ, Kafka, HTML5, CSS, JSON, and AngularJS.
- Creating well-defined and robust RESTful APIs for payment processing supporting SWIFT MT and MX message formats.

- Using cryptographic techniques and algorithms to sign and secure REST APIs, including encryption, hashing, and digital signatures.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $189,592.00 - $209,000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. Base salary is determined on an individualized basis, including experience and market location, and is part of a total compensation package that may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. The Company reserves the right to modify the base salary (and other discretionary compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
