Vice President, Design & Construction

About the role

Lead and oversee all aspects of global restaurant design, ensuring designs support top-level business objectives. This role will influence and work across all business verticals to align designs with branding, incorporate technology innovations, and enable global replication. You will direct the Center of Excellence (COE), the CCC Development Lab, and manage all internal COE Design & Construction staff worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for all restaurant designs adhering to and celebrating design principles while maintaining brand consistency globally.
• Lead and establish strategic initiatives impacting the restaurant environment, collaborating with interdisciplinary partners to complete projects.
• Influence Design & Construction staff to source, select, and evaluate new materials, furniture, fixtures, lighting, and equipment vendors in line with brand standards.
• Select outside services to ensure accomplishment of company objectives and COE goals.
• Oversee overall Design & Construction functions, including relationships with external consultants, general contractors, and design vendors globally.
• Influence Development field teams to ensure new concepts are appropriately translated into roll-out packages globally.
• Lead team efforts to shape all aspects of the in-restaurant guest experience, creative direction, and execution of the restaurant environment globally.
• Evaluate project costs relative to architecture and design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field (required).
• Master’s degree in Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field (required).
• Architectural licensure (preferred, but not required).
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Architecture, Construction, Engineering, Restaurant, and/or Retail Design.
• 8+ years of supervisory experience in Design and/or Construction.
• Proficiency in design tools (Revit/AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, hand sketching).
• Understanding and experience in restaurant operations, finance, and marketing.
• Proven leadership skills with a history of managing high-functioning creative design teams.
• Ability to influence and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver business results.
• Strong project management, planning, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $275,000–$325,000. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based on performance and other factors.
