About the Role

The Corporate Commodity Sales team works with American corporations and financial sponsors to originate and deliver commodity hedging and risk management solutions across the full commodity complex, including energy, metals, agricultural, and environmental products. This role is specifically focused on the development of the US Power and Natural Gas franchise, supporting the strategic expansion of these markets as a key growth area. The team structures and executes hedging strategies across futures, swaps, options, and structured solutions to help clients manage price volatility, cash flow stability, and earnings-at-risk.

The role requires strong knowledge of US energy markets, regional dynamics, and commodity derivatives, alongside an idea-driven, client-centric approach to origination and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Franchise Development (US Power & Gas Focus):
    • Play a central role in driving the continued build-out of the US Power & Gas business, acting as a key commercial contributor within the broader commodities platform
    • Proactively identify and develop scalable business opportunities, directly contributing to revenue growth and franchise expansion
  • Client Coverage & Origination:
    • Act as a primary coverage officer for corporate clients with US Power & Gas exposure
    • Originate new client relationships and deepen existing ones, driving engagement and wallet share
    • Develop and implement tailored hedging strategies (fixed price hedges, options, structured and load-following solutions)
    • Provide actionable insights on forward curves, seasonality, storage dynamics, and regional markets (e.g., PJM, ERCOT, Henry Hub, basis)
  • Execution & Product Delivery:
    • Pricing and execution of transactions across commodity derivatives, including swaps, options, and structured hedges
    • Partner closely with Trading and Structuring to deliver client solutions
    • Maintain a strong understanding of key valuation drivers, including curve structure, basis, volatility, and liquidity
  • Cross-Commodity & Cross-Platform Collaboration:
    • Deliver solutions within the broader commodity platform (energy, metals, environmental products) where relevant to client needs
    • Collaborate with Corporate Banking, DCM, and other product partners to embed hedging into financing solutions
    • Liaise with XVA, Risk, Legal, and Credit teams as part of transaction execution
  • Client Lifecycle Management:
    • Oversee onboarding processes (KYC, Legal, Credit) and ongoing servicing for assigned client relationships
    • Ensure seamless execution and lifecycle management through coordination with middle and back-office teams
  • Market Intelligence & Content:
    • Monitor US energy markets and generate client-driven trade ideas and actionable hedging recommendations
    • Prepare client materials including presentations, pricing analyses, and hedging rationale
  • Risk Management & Governance:
    • Maintain strong awareness of market, credit, operational, and regulatory risks
    • Ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements
    • Exercise sound judgment in managing client activity and transaction-related risks

Requirements

  • Strong experience in US Power & Natural Gas markets (including PJM, ERCOT, Henry Hub, and basis markets)
  • Proven experience structuring and executing commodity hedging solutions for corporates
  • Deep understanding of commodity derivatives (swaps, options, and structured solutions)
  • Excellent client-facing communication and relationship management skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic market environment
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Trading, Structuring, and Coverage teams
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg proficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing relationships across corporates, utilities, or infrastructure investors with energy exposure
  • Familiarity with deal-contingent hedging, project-related hedging, or structured commodity solutions
  • Understanding of accounting, liquidity, and regulatory treatment of commodity derivatives

Pay

The expected starting salary range for this position is between $155,000 to $240,000 annually. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
