Vice President, Controller

For our client, a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space, we are seeking a Vice President Controller to support financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making. This role partners with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation, offering the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a life sciences environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting organization, overseeing general accounting and financial close activities
• Oversee preparation and review of consolidated financial statements with detailed operational analysis
• Ensure timely, complete, and accurate SEC reporting activities
• Conduct technical accounting research and manage accounting implications of business events
• Monitor emerging accounting standards and implement new pronouncements across the organization
• Support strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions
• Drive Finance transformation initiatives, enhancing financial systems and controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline required
• CPA license required with expertise in U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance
• 15-20 years of accounting or financial reporting experience, including leadership roles in publicly traded companies
• 8-10 years of leadership experience in a finance function
• Demonstrated experience in SEC reporting for a publicly traded biotechnology or pharmaceutical company

Pay

$285,000 – $385,000 annually
