Vice President, Client Finance
About the role
The Vice President, Client Finance serves as a strategic finance partner to leadership across a vertical within Orchestra. This role is responsible for financial oversight, operational rigor, and performance optimization—ensuring accurate reporting, disciplined forecasting, and actionable insights that drive profitability and support business growth.
Accountabilities and Qualifications
- Financial Management & Close
- Lead month-end close for one vertical, including revenue recognition, accruals and variance analysis
- This will include ensuring journal entries properly reflect retainer and project revenue models
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across NetSuite, HubSpot and PowerBI
- Generate manager reporting, including revenue, utilization, over-servicing metrics, pending contracts and AR
- Forecasting & Planning
- Own and review client-level forecasts, leveraging Power BI and internal reporting tools
- Partner with vertical leadership to align financial plans with business objectives
- Identify risks, opportunities and trends; proactively recommend mitigation strategies
- Business Partnership & Strategy
- Act as a key advisor to vertical leadership on financial performance, client profitability, and resource allocation
- Provide data-driven insights on over-servicing, pricing, and margin improvement opportunities
- Support new business proposals, staffing models, and capacity planning in conjunction with Pricing Desk and Resource management.
- Client Profitability & Renewals
- Monitor and analyze client profitability, including managed revenue, utilization, and over-servicing
- Partner with Client Relationship Leads (CRLs) and practice heads to refine commercial terms and improve account economics.
- Reporting & Analytics
- Generate mid-level manager reporting, including revenue, utilization, over-servicing metrics, pending contracts and AR
- Maintain data accuracy across NetSuite, HubSpot, Replicon, and other systems
- Accounts Receivable Oversight
- Review AR performance across managed verticals, including aging, collections, and risk mitigation
- Partner with AR team to escalate and resolve issues
- Team Leadership
- Manage and develop a Financial Analyst, including coaching, performance management, and career development
- Foster a high-performance, accountable team environment
- Ad Hoc & Continuous Improvement
- Lead or support special projects, process improvements, and system enhancements
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve financial visibility
- Essential Skills:
- 7+ years’ experience in finance
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of financial systems (NetSuite experience required) and Microsoft Excel
- Deep understanding of financial accounting, P&L, balance sheet management and revenue recognition methodologies
- Strong financial analysis and planning skills and demonstrated strong business acumen
- Ability to effectively manage workloads, prioritize and streamline tasks and multiple deadlines
- Self-starter who is equal parts doer and teacher
- Ability to get to the root cause of an issue, problem solve for the long term while working with or creating off-the-cuff solutions
- Demonstrated staff management experience and leadership skills, ideally within a high-growth and dynamic organization
- Consulting and client service-oriented mindset with the ability to foster positive working relationships both externally and internally
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders and managing their expectations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work at Orchestra
Salary range (commensurate with experience and skills): $135,000-$180,000
Vice Presidents are eligible for end of year bonuses based on firm, team and individual performance.
