Vice President, Business Leadership – Financial Services, Sports & Entertainment

We are seeking an innovative, strategic, and commercially minded leader with a passion for Sports and Entertainment to manage a high-profile sports sponsorship activation portfolio for a financial services client. In this role, you will serve as the senior day-to-day business lead, strategically guiding client partnerships and executing IRL, virtual, and hybrid experiential programs across the brand’s professional team sports and venues portfolio—including NFL, NBA, and NHL properties.

Responsibilities

  • Create a team environment that facilitates mutual respect, partnership, quality thinking, appropriate risk-taking, strong internal communications, and regular performance feedback.
  • Oversee the client’s professional sports teams and venues portfolio, strategically guiding the utilization and optimization of all contractual assets.
  • Provide sponsorship and partnership expertise, leading the development and activation of strategic solutions (sponsorship activation, event marketing, offers/promotions, and media support) to build brand equity and deliver results.
  • Guide cross-functional teams through the development and activation of complex client programs, from strategic briefs through ideation, production, and execution.
  • Build strong senior client and partner relationships, influencing and negotiating within a matrix structure.
  • Develop rapport with sponsorship partners and partner agencies, troubleshooting conflicts as they arise.
  • Support agency culture through leadership integrity, transparent communication, and presence across the office.
  • Manage and mentor direct reports, fostering an environment of mutual respect, strategic thinking, open communication, performance feedback, professional development, and adherence to agency policy.
  • Deliver against annual revenue and margin targets, responsible for accounts collectively greater than $5M in annual revenue.
  • Raise awareness of Momentum's brand within the industry among potential clients and talent.
  • Develop and manage budgets, staffing plans, and compelling client/new business presentations.
  • Plan and execute assignments that are on strategy, on time, and on budget.
  • Develop strategic solutions (sports sponsorship activation, brand promotions, event marketing, and media support) to build brand equity and deliver client results.
  • Provide category expertise and leadership to internal teams to meet client goals, ensuring brand strategy and objectives are met.
  • Understand the client’s business beyond marketing and anticipate client needs.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to conceive and execute innovative solutions across platforms that build brand equity and deliver results.
  • Lead account service and cross-discipline agency teams in developing and delivering exceptional programs flawlessly executed to meet client needs.
  • Act as an integral member of the brand team, developing and managing client business while leading strategy development.
  • Provide category and channel expertise, educating internal partners on best practices.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 12–14+ years of agency experience, heavily weighted toward partnership marketing, client account management, and multi-disciplinary team leadership.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale, memorable sponsorship activations (online/offline) for professional sports and entertainment properties, supported by strong industry relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect business objectives to creative and experiential solutions while managing complex integrated programs, revenue targets, budgets, and staffing plans.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, influencing, and client management skills, with experience engaging clients and partners at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to articulate and drive toward the big picture.
  • Passionate, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Confident presenter with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and team development skills, with a track record of inspiring teams, fostering talent, and encouraging high-quality deliverables.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Agency experience strongly desired.
  • Passion for developing people, offering support, and motivating success.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $170,000 - $180,000. Compensation within this range will depend on factors such as actual ranges for current/former employees in the role, market considerations, location, budget, tenure, and the employee's/applicant's background, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule

Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager.
