About the role
This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision-making, and support sustainable growth within a Media environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and ensure the professional development of the Content Acquisitions Legal team
- Analyze legal issues and communicate effectively with business stakeholders to support the company’s goals
- Implement process improvements and efficiencies for the Content Acquisitions Legal team
- Negotiate content license and distribution agreements while ensuring best practices are followed
- Maintain communication with stakeholders on negotiation progress and escalate issues appropriately
- Build strong partnerships with internal teams, third-party partners, and colleagues
- Support overflow work for other Legal team verticals as necessary
Qualifications
- 15+ years' legal experience in an established law firm and in entertainment, media, advertising, and/or technology sector
- 5+ years' experience managing and developing a team of attorneys
- Demonstrated expertise in negotiating and drafting content acquisition and distribution agreements
- Understanding of digital rights management challenges and practices
- Strong communication skills for conveying complex legal concepts clearly to stakeholders
Pay
$252,300 – $360,500 annually
