Vice President, Associate General Counsel

About the role

This role will provide business-aligned guidance focused on governance, compliance, and operational risk management. You will partner with leaders, compliance stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate complex issues into practical recommendations. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen responsible execution, improve decision-making, and support sustainable growth within a healthcare environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and strategic support for the company’s Medicare Advantage, Part D, and Duals products
• Serve as lead legal counsel for Wellcare, the company’s Medicare brand
• Advise partners on healthcare laws and regulations affecting Medicare
• Research and analyze complex regulatory requirements related to Medicare operations
• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and related documents
• Provide legal guidance to support new regulations and operational workflows
• Manage provider disputes and outside counsel as needed

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) required
• 7+ years of experience in health law required
• 2+ years of experience handling risk adjustment matters preferred
• 2+ years of experience in Medicare Stars preferred
• 2+ years of experience advising on Medicare bids and benefit structures preferred
• 2+ years of people leadership experience preferred
• Bar Admission and currently in good standing required

Pay

$171,900 – $326,900 annually
