Position Purpose
Serve as a legal counselor to Centene business leaders, providing strategic legal input and guidance. Partner with business leaders to develop solutions to legal problems and challenges. Takes on increasing responsibility for national-level and/or Company-wide legal matters.
- Provides legal advice to Centene entities and develops solutions to legal and regulatory requirements that impact various product lines and programs.
- Serves as primary counsel supporting various Centene business functions, such as business development, procurement (including bid protests), network development, operations, compliance, internal audit, and other key functions.
- Serves as primary counsel to Centene subsidiaries, providing general counsel services to business leaders.
- Advises corporate teams with solving business challenges.
- Develops and recommends legal structures for business opportunities, including joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and contractual relationships; draft and negotiate related contracts, policies and procedures and other documents.
- Manages outside counsel as necessary to ensure the delivery of efficient, high quality legal services.
- Recommends and develops law-related training and preventative law activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) required. Master's Degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in corporate and/or health law required.
- 1+ years of experience with complex merger and acquisition, joint venture and other transactions, government contract law, health law and managed care preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in highly regulated industries preferred.
- Bar Admission and currently in good standing required.
- Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.
Pay
Pay Range: $171,900 - $326,900. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
