Vice-Chief, Division of Genomic Diagnostics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)
About the role
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree. Molecular Genetic Pathology certification following Pathology residency, or American Board of Medical Genetics certification in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics, is required. Physicians must be eligible/licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities
Teaching responsibilities may include teaching fellows, residents, medical and graduate students, and staff in a variety of settings.
Clinical responsibilities may include the development and implementation of tools for diagnostic and translational medicine, establishing and improving standards and methods for the interpretation of multi-omic data, assessing risk factors, and appropriate quantitative interpretation of data in clinical lab settings.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include work in the broad area of genomic diagnostics.
Serve as Vice Chief of CHOP’s Division of Genomic Diagnostics (DGD), reporting to the Division Chief.
Help lead with a clear vision for the future of genomic diagnostics, driving innovation by developing new tests and technologies and supporting clinical research initiatives.
Proactively build and foster collaborations both within CHOP and with external academic and industry partners to expand the Division’s impact and capabilities.
Requirements
Proven leadership skills and expertise in Genomic Diagnostics.
Eligible/licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Molecular Genetic Pathology certification following Pathology residency, or American Board of Medical Genetics certification in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in relevant field.
MD degree.
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Experience in genomic diagnostics and related fields.
