About the role

SUSLA is seeking a Vice Chancellor, Student Affairs and Enrollment Management to lead the college's Student Affairs and Enrollment Management division. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree and at least three years of relevant experience, with proficiency in Microsoft applications and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update the college's Student Affairs Strategic Plans and integrate them with other major planning efforts within the college.
  • Create and manage the budget for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.
  • Enhance student retention and completion rates.
  • Oversee and manage the Student grievance and appeals process (non-academic).
  • Develop and produce student affairs brochures/handouts.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel; coordinate work assignments; review work to ensure compliance with established standards, requirements, and procedures.
  • Implement measures and methodologies to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Division.
  • Collaborate with the Chancellor and Executive Team to develop rules, regulations, procedures, and policies applicable to Student Affairs.
  • Maintain awareness of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management trends, practices, laws, and regulations (including Title V, Title VII, and Title IX).
  • Maintain and update the Student Affairs website to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Develop and maintain procedures for academic and student record retention and disposal.
  • Maintain external relationships with prospective students, parents, high school counselors, and other stakeholders.
  • Occasionally work evenings and weekends and travel overnight as needed.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • At least three years of increasingly responsible administrative experience at or above the Dean’s or Director’s level (or equivalent) in Student Affairs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative approach to working with students, colleagues, and partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five or more years of increasingly responsible administrative experience at or above the Dean’s or Director’s level (or equivalent) in Student Affairs.
  • Experience with Ellucian’s Banner or other major student information systems.
  • Organizational and managerial skills with respect to complex, sensitive issues.
