About the role

The Vice Chancellor for Information Technology (VCIT) will align information technology strategy with the institution’s mission, strategic priorities, and goals for academic excellence and research distinction. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of IT services that support the university’s mission and strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IT strategies that support the university’s mission and strategic objectives.
  • Lead the development and management of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data.
  • Collaborate with academic units to enhance the student experience and support research initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee the delivery of IT services and ensure their alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage a team of IT professionals to deliver high-quality services and support.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in IT leadership, including experience in higher education.
  • A proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • A deep understanding of IT governance, risk management, and compliance.
  • Experience in managing complex IT projects and budgets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and across various departments.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in IT management.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership experience in a complex environment.
  • Experience in higher education IT environments preferred.
  • Experience in developing and implementing IT strategies.
  • Experience in managing IT infrastructure and services.
  • Experience in leading and managing IT teams.
  • Experience in IT governance, risk management, and compliance.

Skills
