Veterinary Technician Supervisor

About the role

VCA Westboro is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join and lead as a Technician Supervisor full time. Our 5-doctor, full-service hospital in Westboro, MA has been serving the community for over 40 years. We are driven to connect with our clients and care for their pets as part of the family.

Responsibilities

• Directing work flow on the floor
• Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
• Helps with the interview process for potential new hires
• Technician Scheduling
• Aids in staffing and coverage where needed
• Aids in basic protocol and standard procedure training
• Provides opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
• Mentors technicians within the department
• Works with department doctors to develop protocols to improve the service
• Ensures that VCA policies, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff

Requirements

• Must hold a valid CVT, RVT, or LVT credential
• Experience in a supervisory role preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of veterinary medicine and procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology or related field
• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician
• At least 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting

Pay

The salary range for this position is $25 - $30 / hour

Schedule

This position is a working supervisory position, which is responsible for the leadership and supervision of our technical staff.
