Veterinary Technician - Radiology

About the role

Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Eatontown, NJ is seeking a Full-time X-Ray/Radiology technician to join their busy emergency and specialty practice.

Responsibilities

• Oversee patients that require radiographs in both emergency and specialty
• Safely prepare and position patients for radiographs
• Attend to patient’s needs during imaging
• Provide empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to all patients and be a strong patient advocate during the patient's hospitalization
• Maintain all equipment on a per-use basis ensuring the safety and best practice care of all patients

Requirements

• At least 1 year experience as a veterinary technician
• Comfortable taking direction from doctors and technicians
• Updated knowledge of radiation protection and safety knowledge
• Prioritize patient’s depending on severity and time of admit
• Comprehensive understanding of the different radiograph techniques
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written; organizational skills; proactive thinking and a positive attitude are also a must
• Positive outlook and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are required
• Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun!
