Pieper Veterinary is seeking dedicated Veterinary Technicians to join our team at Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center, a VECCS Level I Facility in Middletown, CT. Our mission is to make our community and the animals and people within it healthier and happier.

About You
- Strong communication and multitasking skills essential in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Maintains a high standard of patient care.
- Experience with restraint, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia, with at least one year of experience in a busy hospital focused on nursing care.
- Experience with CPR, EzyVet, and SmartFlow is a plus.
- Collaboration is highly valued on our team.
Anticipated Schedule
This is a full-time position:
- Schedule A: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - 2pm-12:30am
- Schedule B: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday - 2pm-12:30am OR 4pm-2:30am
- Holidays are required.
Compensation
- Starting at $22.50-$30.00/hour dependent upon experience + shift differential.

Requirements
- At least 1 year or more of experience in a busy hospital, focusing on nursing care.
- Associates degree in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
- CVT license is a plus.
- Knowledge with Anesthesia and monitoring.
- Phlebotomy knowledge.
- Knowledge of the procedures used for scheduling patients, receiving, treating, ordering medical supplies, and requesting laboratory tests.
- Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques to sterilize various instruments and materials.
- Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in the full variety of treatments to make preparations and provide “tableside” assistance.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
