About the role

VCA Family and Oahu Veterinary Specialty Center is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our General Practice team, with a focus on surgery and dentistry.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures
• Administer medications and treatments
• Perform diagnostic tests and record results
• Care for hospitalized patients
• Prepare surgical instruments and equipment
• Provide patient care and comfort
• Document patient care and treatment in medical records

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician from a recognized organization
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license
• Passing score on a background check

Skills

• Proficient in computer software and databases
• Knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly
