Veterinary Technician - Emergency Furever Vets Central Urgent Care and Pet Resort offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care and customer service. The role involves a variety of responsibilities including emergency care, patient assessment, and assisting veterinarians in various procedures.
Responsibilities
- Lift and carry animals (assisted by other staff)
- Walk or stand for extended periods
- Work in a bent position
- Exposure to unpleasant odors, noises, and animal feces
- Exposure to bites, scratches, and contagious diseases
- Provide expansive customer service skills
- Perform phlebotomy techniques for canines and felines
- Conduct abdominal, thoracic, orthopedic, and dental radiology
- Perform ultrasonography
- Scale and polish canine and feline teeth
- Record and maintain medical records
- Assist in restraining animals
- Understand and apply animal anatomy and physiology
- Diagnose and treat common canine and feline diseases and conditions
- Prepare and administer injections
- Monitor patients during and after surgery
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients
- Perform clinical laboratory procedures
- Take radiographs
- Place and care for IV catheters
- Prepare for and assist in advanced procedures
- Position and care for patients undergoing laser therapy
- Alert veterinarians to changes in patient condition
- Discharge patients based on veterinarian’s orders
Requirements
- Experience as a Veterinary Technician for at least one year

- Understanding of prescription drug usage and side effects
- Effective inventory management of medical supplies
- Ability to assist veterinarians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures
- Knowledge of common disease states and alerting veterinarians to changes
- Ability to perform CPR and hospitalize critical patients

Pay and Schedule
- Starting salary: $20.00/hr, +$2/hr night differential for all hours after 7:00pm
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, 3 days per week, Shift: 12:00pm - 12:00am
- Overtime available
- Holiday pay on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the Fourth of July
