Veterinary Technician - Critical Care

About the role

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Levittown, PA is seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our ICU/Critical Care team.

Responsibilities

• Triage and obtain patient history.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Place IVC's and advanced catheters like Jugular catheters, Central Lines or PICC lines.
• Monitor and care for Ventilator Cases.
• Work alongside other skilled technicians and assistants in providing advanced medicine to patients.
• Mentor and train other co-workers.
• Nurse critically ill patients back to health and reunite them with their pet parents.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Pennsylvania State license as a Veterinary Technician.
• Experience in critical care preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Pass a background check.
• Pass a drug test.

Pay

$22.15 - $44.91 / hour + competitive shift differentials. The pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool.

Schedule

Back-end of the week; 3x12s or 4x10s. Shift Differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example, Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$3.50 Shift Differential, Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$3.50 Shift Differential, Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$5.50 Shift Differential.
