About the role

Porter Square Veterinary is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team! This is an excellent opportunity for Veterinary Technicians who are excited to fully utilize their skills in both surgery and outpatient care while making meaningful connections with clients and their pets.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient preparation and recovery during surgical and dental procedures.
  • Maintain detailed medical records to support accurate patient care.
  • Support exam room workflow by assisting with outpatient care, patient handling, and preparing for appointments.
  • Communicate with clients to check-in for appointments, review treatment plans, provide discharge instructions, and address questions with empathy and clarity.
  • Anticipate the needs of your team to maintain an efficient schedule while upholding the highest standards of patient care.

Requirements

This position is ideal for Veterinary Technicians who take pride in their work, value a team where everyone - front and back - has each other's backs, and enjoy building real, lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

Qualifications And Skill Set

  • 3+ years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience.
  • Proficiency in the following skills: Client communication & education, Medical record keeping, Patient restraint & handling, Phlebotomy & IV catheter placement, IV/IM/SQ injections.
  • Experience in anesthesia maintenance & monitoring, Dental prophylaxis & radiology, Cystocentesis, Microscopy is a plus but not required.

Schedule

This is a full-time or part-time position either working 3 (PT) or 4 (FT) days per week and availability needed Monday-Saturday. Typically you'd work at least 2 Saturday shifts per month with the option to work more if preferred.

Pay & Benefits

  • Compensation: $22 - 28 per hour, for each hour worked.
  • Bonus package: $500-$2,000 based on experience and licensure.
  • CE allowance: Up to $1,000 annually based on licensure.
