Veterinary Technician

About the role

VCA Fairleigh Animal Hospital is a 3-doctor practice offering comprehensive veterinary care including preventive medicine, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics, and client education. We foster a collaborative, supportive environment encouraging learning, teamwork, and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Aid in surgical procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and recovery
• Perform dental cleanings, charting, and radiographs
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments
• Collect samples and run in-house diagnostics
• Place catheters and support patient treatments
• Provide educational guidance to clients on care plans, medications, and follow-up

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician from a recognized program
• Experience in veterinary settings preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques

Skills

• Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills

Pay

$20.00 – $26.00/hour, with pay range negotiable based on experience, education, skills, and credentials.

Schedule

Full-time opportunity, 4 x 10-hour shifts, with one Saturday shift per month.
