Veterinary Technician

About the role

The Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) / Veterinary Assistant (VA) works closely with the staff Veterinarian and reports to the Veterinary Clinic Manager. This position supports the planning, execution, and evaluation of the veterinary medical care program at Muddy Paws Rescue.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing veterinary services to animals in the care of Muddy Paws Rescue.
• Visits the Muddy Paws Rescue Clinic according to policies and procedures established by Muddy Paws Rescue, and in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Exemplifies Muddy Paws values of being Positive, Welcoming, Supportive, and Responsive.
• Demonstrates a commitment to Fear Free Veterinary practices and a passion for shelter medicine.

Requirements

• Licensed veterinary technician preferred; unlicensed veterinary assistants will be considered if they possess the required clinical skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a veterinary setting is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

Starting salary of $67,000+ (pay commensurate with experience and credentials).

Schedule

Standard schedule is four days per week, with occasional five-day weeks as needed.
