Veterinary Technician

Job Summary

Washington County Veterinary Hospital is seeking a full-time experienced veterinary technician to join their team in Wakefield, Rhode Island. The ideal candidate should have 2+ years of experience, knowledge of industry tools and equipment, experience with animal behavior and healthcare, and a passion for working with animals and their owners.

Responsibilities

• Properly handle and restrain animals
• Room patients
• Assist in surgery
• Surgical recovery
• Place IV catheters
• Draw blood and run bloodwork
• Use laboratory equipment
• Position x-rays
• Be a positive and supportive team player

Requirements

• Knowledge of animal behavior and healthcare
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Team player willing to continue to learn
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Benefits

• Up to $30.00 hourly salary based upon experience
• Sign-on bonus up to $3,500.00 based on experience and surgical/anesthesia experience
