Veterinary Technician/Assistant – Seasonal

Key Responsibilities

• Aid with exams, surgery, anesthesia, and post-procedure monitoring
• Administer medications, vaccines, and calculate dosages accurately
• Triage incoming animals and assess their medical needs and behavior
• Perform lab work, radiographs, and basic diagnostic procedures
• Maintain sterile environments, disinfect equipment, and document care in shelter systems

What You Bring

• Education & Experience:
  • Associate degree in veterinary technology or related field
  • One year of hands-on experience in animal care, vet clinics, or similar setting
• Skills & Knowledge:
  • Fear Free Shelter Certification within 30 days of hire
  • Rabies and tetanus vaccinations within 1 year
  • Knowledge of anesthesia, intubation, and patient monitoring
  • Experience with lab equipment and diagnostic procedures
  • Understanding of animal behavior, medical terminology, and treatment protocols
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and manage controlled substances
