We are seeking a Veterinary Technician Assistant in Oncology to support patients through cancer treatments, diagnostics, and appointments.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring patients during chemotherapy with full PPE
- Assisting with CT scans, biopsies, ultrasounds, and radiographs
- Supporting diagnostic processes by preparing bloodwork and imaging
- Managing our radioactive I131 program for hyperthyroid cats
- Maintaining accurate medical records, treatment sheets, and drug logs
- Performing restraint, pain assessments, and preparing medications
- Supporting client communication, scheduling, and discharge procedures
- Entering data into management platforms and supporting hospital flow
- Cross-training with other departments to enhance skills
Requirements
- Experience in a veterinary clinical setting preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Confidence in patient restraint and handling procedures
- Knowledge of platforms like EzyVet or SmartFlow is a plus
- Willingness to work in full PPE during treatments
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and assist with larger patients
- A desire to learn, grow, and collaborate in a specialty environment
Schedule
This full-time role involves working four 10-hour weekdays, with some holiday requirements.
Pay
Compensation ranges from $25 to $35/hr, based on experience and licensure.
