Veterinary Scribe (Part-Time) - Chicago, IL (South Loop)

About the role

VEG was founded in 2014 with a mission to improve the emergency veterinary care experience. The company now operates 24/7, 365 days a year, and is committed to creating a positive workplace for its employees, known as VEGgies.

Responsibilities

• Compose electronic medical records
• Submit lab work and notify doctors when results are in
• Assist doctors with non-clinical duties
• Communicate effectively with every member of the medical team
• Maintain professionalism and an exemplary work ethic
• Write clearly and concisely and able to type quickly

Requirements

• Undergraduate or postgraduate student with an interest in a future career in veterinary emergency medicine
• Detail oriented, with strong communication and multitasking skills
• Able to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and work on the floor, as well as able to lift up to 25 kg on own and able to support up to 40 kg with assistance
• Willing to work in a noisy environment with strong or unpleasant odors
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs; this is not a remote position
• Work well in a fast-paced environment with people from all backgrounds and different personality types

Pay

• Part-time credentialed VEGgies receive a $1,000/year travel stipend
• Part-time uncredentialed VEGgies receive a $400/year travel stipend

Schedule

• Nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating or as needed basis based on hospital needs
• This is not a remote position
