Veterinary Receptionist - Part-Time

Pay

Pay: $17.00 - $26.00 / hour
Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.
For Example:
Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.00
Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $4.50
Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.00

Responsibilities

• Greet and make friendly eye contact every time the hospital entry door opens.
• Offer warm and professional acknowledgement to each client.
• Ensure each client receives the care and attention they need.
• Function calmly and compassionately in emotionally challenging situations.
• Greet and make friendly eye contact every time the hospital entry door opens.
• Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact, and an approachable demeanor.
• Be a compassionate listener and speak clearly, slowly, and calmly in person and on the telephone.
• Absolutely assess immediately upon arrival each client’s rare need, as well as the pet’s general condition.
• Determine whether an emergency arrival is a “stat” versus “standard” emergency.
• Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
• Confirm all appointments in advance ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment.
• Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
• Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains by ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
