About the Role

Join our team as a Care Coordinator who contributes to the success of a high-performing organization committed to delivering superior care and exceptional service. This position performs a range of administrative and customer service tasks, providing valuable support to the hospital. Within the veterinary field, this role aligns closely with positions often titled Veterinary Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Client Care Specialist.

Apple Valley Animal Hospital in California has been a cornerstone of High Desert veterinary care since 1987, earning AAHA accreditation within its first year. The hospital has grown into a thriving five-doctor, 33-staff-member practice renowned for "Compassionate Medical Excellence." Responsibilities

  • Provides excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations.
  • Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments.
  • Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well-being.
  • Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products.
  • Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts.
  • Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records.
  • Reconciles cash drawer and performs end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED required, or equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a veterinary receptionist in a hospital setting.

Preferred Skills

  • 2+ years of experience as a veterinary receptionist in a hospital setting.

Schedule

Schedule varies from Monday through Saturday. Shift hours may include:

  • 6:30 AM–3:30 PM
  • 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
  • 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
  • 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
  • 10:00 AM–7:00 PM

Pay

Pay Range: $17.50—$18.50 USD
