Veterinary Receptionist
About the role
At BluePearl Pet Hospital, our Veterinary Receptionists are essential to the success of our hospital. In this role, you are the first BluePearl Associate that clients see. You will ensure that each client receives the care and attention they need. You will need to be able to function calmly and compassionately in situations that can be very emotional and difficult for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Greet and make friendly eye contact every time the hospital entry door opens to offer warm and professional acknowledgment.
- Offer a friendly smile, strong eye contact, and an approachable demeanor.
- Assess immediately upon arrival each client's rare need, as well as the pet's general condition.
- Determine whether an emergency arrival is a "stat" versus "standard" emergency.
- Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
- Confirm all appointments in advance, ensuring clients receive accurate information about preparing their pet for the appointment.
- Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients in a compassionate and discreet manner.
- Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during handling of pet remains by ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.

Pay
The pay range for this full-time role is $21 - $30 per hour, depending on experience and leveling through the Kahuna leveling system.
Schedule
Hours may vary based on department needs, but typically include a mix of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.
