Veterinary Receptionist

Pay: $22 - $31 per hour, dependent on experience and leveling through our competency system. Competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked: $4.00 for Mon-Fri 6pm-8am and Sat-Sun 8am-6pm, $5.50 for Sat-Sun 6pm-8am (4-hour minimum).

About the role

As a Veterinary Receptionist at BluePearl Pet Hospital, you are the first point of contact for clients and play a crucial role in ensuring they receive care and attention. You will function calmly and compassionately in emotional and difficult situations, offering guidance, comfort, and support to clients and their pets.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients with friendly eye contact, a warm smile, and professional acknowledgment every time the hospital entry door opens.
• Maintain a calm, clear, and approachable demeanor in person and on the telephone.
• Assess each client’s needs and the pet’s general condition upon arrival to determine if an emergency is “stat” or “standard.”
• Respond to non-patient calls or visitors and connect them to the appropriate team member.
• Confirm all appointments in advance, ensuring clients receive accurate preparation information.
• Offer emotional support and resource materials to grieving clients discreetly and compassionately.
• Serve as a liaison between clients and service agencies during the handling of pet remains, ensuring a complete, accurate, and compassionate process.
