Key Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets, complete the appointment sign-in process, confirm appointment details, and escort clients to exam rooms.
- Ensure accurate service and product sales accounting, handle payments, process credit/debit cards, and schedule future appointments.
- Answer client calls for appointments, hospital inquiries, medication refills, and other requests. Make outbound calls for appointment reminders and follow-ups.
- Understand common vaccination protocols, basic lab tests, common diseases, veterinary terminology, and pet behavior.
- Aid in maintaining cleanliness and organization to ensure a positive client experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist is required.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor.
About the Role
Receptionists play a crucial role in setting the tone for clients' visits at Bay Ridge Animal Hospital and Annapolis Cat Hospital. They are the first point of contact for clients and must excel in a fast-paced environment, communicate clearly, and be passionate about animal care.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with four 10-hour shifts per week. Two early shifts (8:00 AM–6:00 PM), two late shifts (10:00 AM–8:00 PM), and rotating Saturday mornings. Occasional shifts from 8 am to 8 pm.
Pay
$16 - $19 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
