Veterinary Radiologist
About the role
The Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a veterinary radiologist to join the small animal clinical sciences teaching and research faculty. This position offers a unique blend of clinical practice and academic excellence, with the option to work on-site, remotely, or in a hybrid capacity.
Responsibilities
- Interpret complex cases and share the process with others
- Work on-site, remotely, or in a hybrid capacity
- Teach and inspire interns, residents, and professional students

- Join experienced support staff, collegial colleagues, and a cohesive, patient-care oriented radiology team
- Choose elements of private practice and academia, flexible FTE and work schedule, and decide where to live
- Enjoy a balanced rotation through core imaging services including radiograph interpretation, ultrasound, and advanced imaging
- Perform teleradiology duties, mainly from local or referring DVMs
- Meet reading requirements set by the VTH's policies
- Submit accurate, thorough interpretations within turnaround time guidelines
- Provide clinical instruction to interns, residents, and professional students
- Mentor and train imaging interns and residents
- Engage in personal development, outreach, and service to the College of Veterinary Medicine and other veterinary-related professional organizations
- Work with the Animal Cancer Care and Research Center, a state-of-the-art clinical and research facility
Requirements
- DVM or equivalent foreign degree by the date of hire
- Completion of an approved ACVR or ECVDI residency program by the date of hire
- Eligibility to sit for the ACVR/ECVDI certification exam or board certification by the date of hire
- In-person radiologists must have authorization to work in the USA and be eligible for a Virginia faculty veterinary license by the date of hire

Pay
$100,000 to 250,000 is commensurate with FTE, the candidate’s experience, and qualifications. In-person radiologists may be eligible for higher salary ranges, reflecting the added value of direct clinical engagement, including ultrasound, procedures, and close collaboration with hospital colleagues.
