VSH of PBG is looking for a Veterinary Nursing Manager! The Nursing Manager will serve as a working leader to provide guidance to veterinary technician supervisors and create effective working relationships with hospital leadership and veterinarians. The primary focus is delivering remarkable nursing care to pets by collaborating between veterinary technician staff leaders and veterinarians. They will communicate medical, behavioral, and performance expectations to their team in alignment with the hospital’s medical excellence committee. They will have oversight into scheduling, staff performance and feedback to ensure quality control and consistency. Your Experience & Skills Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)- preferredMinimum of 3 years’ experience as an emergency veterinary technician-preferredPrior management or supervisory experience highly preferredSelf-motivatedHas excellent people skills (Ethical, diplomatic, courteous, professional)Has strong leadership skills (judgment, logic, creativity, conflict resolution)Is detail oriented and organizedPossesses strong technical skillsStrong anesthesia monitoring skills requiredPhlebotomy experience requiredAbility to multi-task and adjust and learn in a fast-paced environmentAre energetic: TEAM players with great communication skillsAble to fully use their technical skills, as well as, learn from new experiencesProvide input and assistance with all aspects of patient careProficient in utilizing Basic Microsoft office suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Role Responsibilities Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate technicians on best practices for client education.With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.Assist and train technical staff in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs. Train nursing team to do the same.Be willing to guide, mentor, and support all nursing team members ensuring accountibilityBe an active participant of our team ensuring all department leadership collaborate to ensure patients and clients have the best experience.
