About the role
Richland Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Medical Director (DVM/VMD) to lead our growing small animal hospital in the heart of Washington's Tri-Cities region. This is an outstanding opportunity for a veterinarian who enjoys practicing high-quality medicine while helping shape hospital culture, mentor doctors, and drive continued growth within a well-established community practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead the hospital’s medical department and ensure high standards of care
- Mentor and develop veterinarians
- Support medical quality initiatives
- Establish and refine clinical protocols
- Foster a positive and collaborative hospital culture
- Partner with hospital leadership on growth initiatives
- Recruit and retain veterinary talent
- Maintain exceptional standards of patient care and client service
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris (VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Licensed or eligible for veterinary licensure in Washington
- Strong foundation in small animal medicine and surgery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and client service
- Passion for collaboration, mentorship, and team development
Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience as a Medical Director, Chief of Staff, Lead Veterinarian, or mentor within a multi-doctor practice is preferred
- Experience performing a broad range of soft tissue surgical procedures is preferred
- Desire to help shape the future of a growing veterinary hospital is preferred

Pay
Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Schedule
Open: Monday-Friday
Schedule: 4 days per week (negotiable)
