About the role

Paws and Claws Animal Hospital is offering a unique succession planning opportunity for a DVM who wants to step into leadership the right way with guidance, collaboration, and a thoughtful transition plan in place.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care
  • Build strong relationships with clients and patients
  • Collaborate closely with the current Medical Director and team
  • Gradually take on leadership responsibilities, including:
    • Mentoring and supporting fellow DVMs
    • Contributing to medical protocols and standards of care
    • Helping guide hospital growth and team development

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school
  • Eligible for or currently holds Michigan veterinary license
  • Strong interest in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and client service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment

Qualifications

  • 35+ years of small animal clinical experience (preferred)
  • Strong foundation in medicine, surgery, and dentistry
  • Interest in leadership, mentorship, and team development
  • Desire to build long-term relationships within the hospital and community
