About the role
BluePearl Pittsburgh South is seeking a full-time, boarded or residency-trained Veterinary Internist to join our collaborative and growing team. This opportunity offers the chance to practice alongside a collegial group of specialists in an environment that values mentorship, teamwork, and high-quality medicine.
Responsibilities
- Practice alongside a collegial group of specialists in an environment that values mentorship, teamwork, and high-quality medicine.
- Join a strong specialty network across our Pittsburgh hospitals, including a combined team of seven criticalists and an active house officer program consisting of rotating interns, emergency and critical care interns and residents, surgical interns and residents.
- Access to state-of-the-art specialty care including: 64-slice CT scanner, two ultrasound units, video endoscopy, digital radiography, dedicated endoscopy and ultrasound suites, comprehensive in-house laboratory, blood bank services, full pharmacy support.
- Work in a connected specialty network with additional support from BluePearl Pittsburgh North and Monroeville, offering services including 24/7 emergency medicine, MRI capabilities, cardiology, critical care, dermatology, internal medicine, medical oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, radiation oncology, surgery.
Requirements
- Board certification or completion of a residency program in veterinary internal medicine.
- Experience in critical care, cardiology, or other relevant specialties is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage a caseload and provide compassionate care to patients and their owners.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in Pennsylvania.
- Passing score on the AVMA-accredited core examination.
Skills
- Excellent diagnostic and therapeutic skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and other relevant software.
