About the role
Roxboro Animal Hospital offers a unique learning environment in a country setting, focusing on progressive medicine. The hospital is equipped with a state-of-the-art ultrasound machine operated by a GP veterinarian with extensive experience in ultrasound techniques.
Responsibilities
- Gain experience in gathering patient histories
- Perform physical exams
- Create treatment plans
- Diagnose using ultrasound and other diagnostic tools
- Provide dental care under supervision
- Assist or perform surgical procedures under supervision
- Manage medical cases
- Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients
Qualifications
Veterinary students of all classes are welcome to participate. Those in the clinical portion of their education may be eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
Skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in basic veterinary care and an interest in various areas of veterinary practice are also required.
