Veterinary Extern - General Practice
About the role
Pender Veterinary Centre offers an externship experience for veterinary students. The facility is a state-of-the-art 20,000 sq ft with separate departments for surgery, general practice, emergency, and exotics.
Responsibilities
- Gain hands-on clinical experience through daily operations including gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing/supplementing surgical procedures, and managing medical cases.
- Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Requirements
An externship experience at an NVA hospital is required. Students must be veterinary students (regardless of class year) to participate.
