Veterinary Extern - Equine
About the role
The Wisconsin Equine Clinic & Hospital (WECH) externship is designed to provide practical and hands-on private practice veterinary experience to all veterinary students in a supportive environment. Externs gain exposure in equine internal medicine, surgery, imaging, sports medicine and reproduction with our hospitalized cases. Our field veterinarians also offer additional services in emergency medicine, wellness, sports medicine, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, regenerative therapies and alternative medicine. The guidance of multiple veterinarians and a large support staff enables the student to be completely involved in daily operations. Students will leave WECH with a solid understanding of private equine practice and knowledge of future careers in equine veterinary medicine. Externs are invited to apply for a year-long internship program upon graduation from veterinary school.
