About the Role
This full-time position at a Middletown, CT location involves diagnosing and treating dental and oral diseases in companion animals within a collaborative specialty referral environment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of dental and oral diseases in companion animals.
- Perform advanced veterinary dentistry and oral surgery procedures.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans and communicate recommendations to pet owners.
- Collaborate with specialists in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Diagnostic Imaging, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and other specialties to provide integrated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
- Mentor and collaborate with veterinary technicians, interns, and other team members when appropriate.
- Deliver exceptional client communication and compassionate patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery residency program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Veterinary Dentistry (AVDC or equivalent).
- Eligible for or able to obtain veterinary licensure in the state of Connecticut.
- Strong diagnostic, surgical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative specialty referral environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Board Certified Veterinary Dentist.
- Experience practicing in a specialty or referral hospital.
- Experience managing complex oral surgery and advanced dental referral cases.
- Passion for collaborative medicine, mentoring, and continued professional development.
Schedule
