About the Role

This full-time position at a Middletown, CT location involves diagnosing and treating dental and oral diseases in companion animals within a collaborative specialty referral environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of dental and oral diseases in companion animals.
  • Perform advanced veterinary dentistry and oral surgery procedures.
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans and communicate recommendations to pet owners.
  • Collaborate with specialists in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Diagnostic Imaging, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and other specialties to provide integrated patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning.
  • Mentor and collaborate with veterinary technicians, interns, and other team members when appropriate.
  • Deliver exceptional client communication and compassionate patient care.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery residency program.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Veterinary Dentistry (AVDC or equivalent).
  • Eligible for or able to obtain veterinary licensure in the state of Connecticut.
  • Strong diagnostic, surgical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative specialty referral environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board Certified Veterinary Dentist.
  • Experience practicing in a specialty or referral hospital.
  • Experience managing complex oral surgery and advanced dental referral cases.
  • Passion for collaborative medicine, mentoring, and continued professional development.

Schedule

  • Full-Time.
