Veterinary Criticalist
Description
Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists is seeking a board-certified, board-eligible, or residency-trained Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Specialist to join their collaborative emergency and specialty team.
What You’ll Do
- ICU and ER management
- Emergency receiving
- Management of complex and critically ill patients
- Collaboration across specialty services
- Teaching and mentorship of interns, residents, and veterinary nursing staff
- Participation in the continued growth and development of the ECC service

- Expanded Emergency and Critical Care space and capacity

- Floorscopy

- Continued growth across existing emergency and specialty departments
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
- Completion of an Emergency and Critical Care residency
- Passed NAVLE, and if necessary, PAVES or ECFVG, prior to application
- Board certification or board eligibility through the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) or equivalent
- Massachusetts veterinary licensure, or eligibility to obtain DEA registration and Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration, or eligibility to obtain both
Benefits
- Base salary of $200,000–$250,000, based on experience and schedule
- Participation in a pooled production bonus designed to support team-based medicine and hospital performance
- The schedule may include day and swing shifts, ICU and ER receiving responsibilities, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage based on department needs
- A four-day workweek, including one administrative day
- Relocation assistance when applicable
- Opportunities to work across our Buzzards Bay and Dennis locations
- Experienced emergency, specialty, and veterinary nursing support
Compensation & Schedule
- Base salary of $200,000–$250,000, based on experience and schedule
