About the role

SAGE Veterinary Centers - Concord is seeking a 2nd Criticalist to join our outstanding team and continue building our critical care service. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive critical care services
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using advanced equipment
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for critically ill patients
  • Provide emotional and physical support to patients and their owners
  • Participate in case conferences and rounds to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies
  • Contribute to the education and training of veterinary students and interns
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited school
  • Current license to practice veterinary medicine in California
  • At least 3 years of experience in critical care or emergency medicine
  • Experience with advanced diagnostic imaging techniques and surgical procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Qualifications

  • Passing scores on relevant board examinations (if applicable)
  • Knowledge of current veterinary literature and best practices
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems

Skills

  • Advanced critical care and emergency medicine skills
  • Proficiency with ultrasound and other diagnostic imaging equipment
  • Effective leadership and management skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Pay

The salary range for this position is between $225,000 and $250,000 depending on experience and credentials.

Schedule

Full-time position with rotating shifts to accommodate the needs of the hospital and the team.
