Veterinary Client Service Representative

About the role

Long Island Animal Hospital in Westbury, NY seeks a cross‑trained receptionist/veterinary assistant for a small general practice (dog and cat). The position supports the medical team with client service, patient care, and hospital operations in a family‑like atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Making appointments
• Answering phones
• Providing estimates and processing invoices
• Animal handling and restraint
• Assist doctors and technicians with medical treatments, diagnostic tests, and procedures
• Obtain health history from clients and ensure documentation is accurate and complete within the electronic medical record
• Maintain cleanliness of treatment and patient areas
• Restock and organize medical supplies
• Constantly advance your knowledge base and skill set

Skills and Qualifications

• 1 year of professional experience in a veterinary clinical setting (CSR, kennel attendant, vet assistant, or similar) – required
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to problem solve and handle multiple tasks
• Ability to adjust to changes in the environment and handle stress calmly
• Team player with patience and a positive attitude
• Detail‑oriented and able to anticipate needs
• Ability to lift and restrain pets of at least 40 lb and work on feet most of the day
