Veterinary Assistant - Urgent Animal Care of Arlington

What We're Looking For

• 1–2 years of veterinary assistant experience
• Previous emergency or urgent care experience preferred
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Comfortable with: Venipuncture, administering injections, subcutaneous fluid administration, patient restraint and handling, assisting with treatments and appointments
• Excellent multitasking and organizational skills
• Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills

Job Details

• Triage and assist with urgent care appointments
• Prepare treatment plans alongside the veterinarian
• Aid in physical examinations and treatments
• Perform venipuncture, draw up and administer injections, administer subcutaneous fluids
• Obtain patient histories and complete medical documentation
• Escort clients to exam rooms and help manage patient flow
• Communicate effectively with both the medical team and clients
• Utilize your full Veterinary Assistant skill set within Virginia regulations

• Hours: Monday–Friday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  Saturday–Sunday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Appointment Schedule: Call-ahead and walk-in urgent care services
• Equipment & Technology: Pulse Practice Management Software, Zoetis/Abaxis In-House Laboratory, Imagyst Diagnostics, Digital Radiology, Ultrasound
• Standards of Care: AAHA-accredited
