Veterinary Assistant - Staten Island, NY

About the Role

Greater Staten Island Veterinary Services is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our busy emergency and surgery practice in Staten Island. This role supports our 24-hour hospital by facilitating the treatment and examination of patients alongside our team of doctors and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to doctors and technicians
• Restrain patients for exams and procedures
• Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing
• Monitor and document patient’s vital signs
• Assist with obtaining radiographs
• Properly use and maintain hospital equipment
• Keep the hospital clean, neat, and stocked
• Walk dogs as directed
• Feed patients as directed
• Handle laundry duties

About Greater Staten Island Veterinary Services

We are a multispecialty practice with boarded specialists in cardiology, surgery, and critical care. Our clients and patients also have access to internal medicine, ophthalmology, oncology, radiation oncology, neurology, dermatology, and radioactive iodine treatment via our affiliated practices in Woodbridge and Eatontown, NJ.

Pay

Base pay: $20–$23 per hour
