About the role

Our BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tacoma, WA is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our Team!

Responsibilities

  • Work with a variety of Specialty Teams across the hospital depending on case load.
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement, according to associate level.
  • Aid in and perform diagnostic imaging procedures with our talented LVTs and DVMs; including radiographs, ultrasound, CT, CBCT, and digital dental radiographs.
  • Maintain accurate records, including patient history, treatment details, and client communication.
  • Absorb and prepare lab samples for send out to multiple labs.
  • Collaborate with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients receive optimal care.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate in a professional and objective manner to ensure efficient patient care and case hand off.
  • Ability to shift duties with short notice depending on department needs.
  • Ability to identify animal body language and handle patients with low stress techniques.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with progressive clinical skills in a hands-on veterinary assistant role.

Qualifications

  • Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S.

Skills

  • Proficiency in venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Pay

VA Pay: $21.26 - $31.45 / hour

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system.

Schedule

Hours may vary based on department needs and case load.
