Medical Assistant- Specialty Services Float
Summary
The Medical Assistant (MA) role is assigned duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment while promoting a smooth flow of patients through the office. The Medical Assistant I functions under the license of the physician/advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities. This position will provide general clinical support for multiple specialty departments (Surgical Care, Wound Care, Cancer Care and Blood Disorders, Palliative Care, OBGYN, Dermatology, Orthopedics and Sports Medicine).
Required
- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Day shift
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis)
- Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, NCCT, or NREMT certification preferred
- Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date
- A NH Med Tech License, or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license is required for those positions located in New Hampshire
- Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
