Veterinary Assistant - Scottsdale Hills Animal Hospital

About the Role

As a Veterinary Assistant (technician) you will assist the doctor with medical procedures under direct supervision, create positive impressions, and build trust with clients and their pets.

Responsibilities

• Provide written and verbal communication to clients about their pet’s care, answer questions, educate them on treatments, and obtain consent for treatment plans.
• Deliver “WOW” customer service to clients and their pets.
• Manage medical records using practice management software.
• Dispense medication, perform x‑rays, draw blood, place catheters, obtain samples, provide treatments, run diagnostic equipment, administer vaccines, and restrain animals when necessary.
• Set up, break down, clean, and maintain medical equipment.
• Assist with cleaning all areas of the hospital.

Requirements

• Comfortable interacting with furry, fuzzy, feathered, and scaly animals with calm and compassion.
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Certified veterinary technician (preferred).
• Associate degree in veterinary assisting (preferred).

Pay

$19 – $22 per hour.

Schedule

Flexible 4–10‑hour shifts; the hospital is closed on Sundays.
